Born 1972 in Vilnius, Lithuania. In 1995 graduated from Vilnius University with a diploma in theoretical physics. From 1996 to 2001 studied at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden and defended his PhD in theoretical physics. From 2002 - assoc. professor in computer science at the General Jonas Žemaitis Military Academy of Lithuania, from 2010 – chief of the Engineering Management Department. Published over 10 scientific papers in refereed international physics journals and books (with co-authors), and published one text book in computer science. Actively consults business enterprises on IT systems development and deployment.

 

 

 

Rimvydas Krasauskas, PhD, Assoc.prof.

Rimvydas Krasauskas is an associate professor at the faculty of Mathematics and Informatics, Vilnius University, Lithuania. In 1988 he received a PhD in mathematics (algebraic topology) at Moscow State University. Since then he has been a member and later the head of the chair Of Geometry and Topology at Vilnius University.

 

Now he is the head of the research group "Computer Aided Geometry Lab" (in the Department of Computer Science II) with activities in geometric modeling for CAD applications (EU project SAGA), 3D web visualization (Vilnius Royal Palace, Old Vilnius University Quarter, Rotuses Square), also teaching geometry, computer graphics and related subjects.

 

His current research interests include geometry of real rational surfaces and their applications to computer aided geometric design. The list of recent publications can be found at the homepage http://www.mif.vu.lt/~rimask/about/.

 

In PINAVIA project he made research on the road interchange optimization.
